After the commercially unsuccessful Brave, several album push-backs, a label switch, a recent position at the American Idol judging panel, and the unexpected success of the lambada sampled ‘On The Floor’, Jennifer Lopez will finally be able to give her long overdue album Love? the light of day.

The album was originally to be released in late March, about the same time Britney Spears would release Femme Fatale, but changes were then made, revealing May 3rd, as the official release date. The album is being released under Island Def Jam.

Cross fingers the steam of ‘On The Floor’ still lingers in next month, as the second single ‘I’m Into You’ featuring Lil Wayne, hasn’t impacted the charts as much as its predecessor did, but remember it was a slow burner, so fortunately ‘I’m Into You’ will witness the same fate.

Lopez will promote the album on the American Idol stage, but will also have a countdown through iTunes with promotional singles in the coming weeks as the release date draws in near; ‘Papi’ has been scheduled for April 19th, and the title track, ‘(What Is) Love?’ for April 26th.

The official tracklisting of both the standard and deluxe versions of the album have been revealed.

It is a shame not to see the amazing ‘Louboutins’, the initially leaked ‘Hooked On You’, neither the brilliant buzz single ‘Fresh Out The Oven’ make the final edit of the album. At least it is nice to see she stuck to her album title for so many years, unlike Nicole Scherzinger who ended up naming her debut differently, from Her Name Is Nicole… to Killer Love.

Just about the majority of the songs making up the track listing have been leaked already, but it is not sure whether they will be the final mastered versions, even though they sound kick ass they way they are. Hopefully this won’t hurt the sales of the album when it hits stores in early May.

The album will feature production by RedOne, Stargate, The-Dream,  Danja, D’Mile, Tricky Stewart, Mike Caren and Lady GaGa (also writing credits), with L.A. Reid and RedOne as executive producers.
