Katy Perry’s album Teenage Dream makes a landmark in history this week, as her fourth single, ‘E.T.’ bows at the top position of the Billboard Hot 100 after dethroning Lady GaGa’s ‘Born This Way’ six week run, making it the 9th album in history to conceive four chart toppers; the single also becomes her fourth consecutive number one, and fifth overall.

Who would’ve thought the girl who kissed a girl in 2008 would become a high profile star by her sophomore effort? Perry’s delivery and input in her career have been by no means sub-par, and it is really paying off.

The album has been selling consistently and currently holds strongly at the 22nd spot in the Billboard Top 200 albums chart, having already earned a Platinum certification for reaching over 1 million copies sold and counting.

At this point, there are no rumors or statements made regarding if Katy will release a fifth single off Teenage Dream, but there have been news swirling online of either a possible mini-remix album or a full album re-release.

Perry remained true to her ‘E.T.’ promotional teasers and slogans of ‘We have taken over’, because without a doubt she has. The charts and pop music have officially been ∆BDUC┼ΞD.

Don’t forget to tune in to the Mtv premiere of the Floria Sigismondi directed video for ‘E.T.’ featuring Kanye West this Thursday, March 31st at 7:53 p.m., followed by a live ‘Mtv First’ interview on Mtv.com. Perry commented the video ‘doesn’t play it safe’, so be expect a cinematic treat; it is already looking promisingly defining.
