No premiere date has been set for ‘Firework’ yet, but the single will officially be released this October 26th; the video might be making its debut around that time.

The video will promote an European Telecommunications group, Deutsche Telekom, and they have promised the video will contain zero product placement.

The video incorporates 250 fan winners, who were chosen after a contest ran across Europe to participate in the shoot. The concept of the video has not been described in much detail, but judging by the behind the scenes and still previews, it looks like one of the opening sequences will have Perry standing at a balcony, as a plastic bag drifts in the air in front of her (alluding to the lyrics), as she looks at the city at night.

Fans run across a plaza, celebrating and cheering to the song as mist is blown; Perry performs verses, in the midst of fans cavorting around. There will also be some storyline, as the stills show other scenarios where a girl seems frustrated in her home environment, and an ill child exits a hospital to watch the nightsky as fireworks ignite the dark. It sounds like it is turning out incredibly.

The single has already charted in New Zealand, cracking the Top 40, reaching a peak of #34 as of now. Look out for ‘Firework’ once it premieres, it is surely going to be a colorful uplifting fest.

In other news, it has been revealed the song was inspired by a paragraph in Jack Kerouac’s bestseller On The Road. Also, Katy disclosed she will announce her official tour dates as well as the name of the tour this Monday, Oct. 11th, via Twitter as she wrote:

I will OFFICIALLY announce the start of my TOUR on MONDAY… oy, I hate secrets BUT I love surprises! Guess what it’s called…?

‘Candyfornia’ or any allusion to her current singles or the album title are decent guesses. As previously announced, the tour would kick in the Spring/early 2011.

Perry has been confirmed to perform on the 2010 Europe Music Awards in Madrid, this November 7th; she is nominated for five awards in the ‘Best Pop’, ‘Best Song’, ‘Best Video’, ‘Best Female’ and ‘Best World Stage Performance’ categories.  Before the year ends, Perry will also be performing at the Z100’s Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden, New York on December 10th, 2010.

If you cannot wait for Katy’s new music video, watch a mini-behind the scenes, where more scenes are shown and how the shooting process was carried out. It seems Perry is onto another winner.
