Katy Perry performed her new singles and breakthrough hit ‘I Kissed A Girl’ before a colorful wigged audience in New York City earlier this morning for The Today Show. Perry blew her performance big by taking to her Twitter days prior, having #katyontoday being a main trend, and by slowly descending off a cotton candy cloud as the opening lines to ‘California Gurls’ stormed out the speakers in a Candy Land themed set.

Album sales predictions read over 200,000 assuring a #1 debut in the Billboard charts coming in next week. Predictions have been underwhelming, considering Teenage Dream is backed up by two mega-successful singles, the multi-platinum ‘California Gurls’ and the recently released Top 5 title track. The sales might boost up with all the performances Perry has been delivering, along the widely broadcasted concert aired on its release date.

Many fans camped outside longing for front liners at her morning mini concert, so Perry sent out custom made Katy Perry pillows and blankets so they would be comfortable through the night, as a sign of appreciation.

As Teenage Dream hit stores this past Tuesday, Perry sang proudly shouting out to her home-state California, with full clinched fist up in the air and enthusiastic vocals, which were not bad for a morning gig. This morning, Katy Perry was certainly the rising sun.

Teenage Dream in stores now. Harbingers’ review coming soon.
